François Payard

    Welcome to the François Payard in TriBeCa, New York! François Payard comes from a classic French pastry-making dynasty and perfected his craft in top multi-starred Parisian establishments including La Tour d’Argent. He moved to the US in 1990 bringing his repertoire of beautifully presented and flavorsome desserts, chocolate, and seasonal fruit confections to New York, working with top chefs such as Daniel Boulud at his New York Times four-star restaurant before running his own critically acclaimed bistro for 12 years. In 2005, he received the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence for one of the most outstanding wine lists of any restaurant on the globe, as well as being selected in 2006 as a member of Relais Desserts International, a professional association of the 85 Best Pastry Chefs in the World. This multi-award-winning pastry chef and author of numerous cookery books has branches of Payard, the bistro, at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and in Japan and Korea. In November 2009, he opened the François Chocolate Bar selling exquisite chocolates. In September 2010, François opened FPB, a bakery on West Houston Street in downtown NY City, with indulgent sweet and savory offerings in a welcoming, informal setting. A second FPB opened in Battery Park City in October 2012 and a third location was launched in spring of 2012 at 3 Columbus Circle (58th Street). François Payard’s flagship Patisserie, Bar and Bistro on New York's Upper East Side at 1293 3rd Avenue (at 74th street) harks back to the great era of his grandfather's shop on the French Riviera.
