Chez Pierre has its roots in a post-war romance between Joe Baldwin, who served with the US Army in Nancy, France in the aftermath of World War II, and Pierrette, the daughter of local French café owners. They married and settled in rural upstate New York 51 years ago and founded what has become a family business. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, but the cuisine is sophisticated, authentic French fare.
