Alain Ducasse’s Benoit restaurant New York (Midtown West) had a facelift in Fall 2016 to bring a contemporary feel to this authentic French bistro in Midtown Manhattan. The premises retain the best of the traditional – club chairs in a cozy lounge area, brass, mirrors, vintage flea market finds and red banquettes in the dining room. This is combined with a bright modern decor in a palette of whites, grays and blues. The bar area has been colorfully restyled to bring the outside indoors with vintage design touches. Old World Paris meets New World NY in a pleasing style with a welcoming, homely feel. The new Wine Bar is a lively space to discover new vintages and socialize around the weekly and monthly wine program led by a knowledgeable team of sommeliers. Patrons are introduced to New and Old World wines, carefully curated food and wine pairings and original wine flights. Traditional vin à la ficelle (wine measured and charged using a piece of string tied around the bottle) is a novel feature.
